The Estate of a Seamstress
I went to an estate sale this weekend in an old 1920s era house. The woman had apparently made 90% of her own clothing, and it was all in near perfect condition. There were several racks in the bedroom (in addition to a full closet), as well as four or five more racks full in the basement (along with multiple tables and boxes of fabric scraps.)
I passed on the 1970s polyester double knit stuff, but ended up with a wonderful pile of handmade dress, ruffled blouses, and a few unique items. I’m working on getting them all listed in the shop (after I decided what I’m keeping for myself, of course)
